41yoF anterior lateral pain. MRI. You don’t see this everyday (at least I don’t)

I called the orthopedist and he said she has anterior lateral pain and she has an adult onset muscular dystrophy (probably Myotonic Dystrophy). I thought maybe some sort of compensatory stress/frictional phenomenon? (when in doubt blame it on stress). Have you seen this before? Thoughts? please reply to me and I will summarize comments and

Answers were C and B. The presence of an intramuscular intratendinous cyst typically means that there is an articular surface component. On this case the posterior coronal image shows it best I believe. Sometimes you don’t see it especially on routine MR but it is found at arthroscopy.
