47yoF bitten by a dog. Xray (not provided), shows foreign body. Please perform CT to decide whether this is bone or a tooth. Hx states bone will be left in and treated conservatively and tooth will be surgically removed.
I said tooth. It’s pointed like the tip of a canine tooth, more dense houndsfield units than either the radius or ulna, 3rd and 4th images show what I think is a little nerve canal although I’m not certain,and importantly, no donor site or fracture.
I have requested the information of whether the dog was captured or not and if captured, is it missing a tooth? I think critical information and that would give some teeth to my confidence level.
