Skin thickening and subcutaneous edema were reported without a visible mass, MRI was recommended.
I was confused at first by the anatomy….this is a woman with an “appendage-like” mass-like swelling in the anteromedial upper thigh, but no focal mass.
There is thickening and edema-like signal the skin and subcutaneous septae, but no measurable enhancement.
I recalled seeing this at SSR and Bob Lopez reminded me this is Massive Localized Lymphedema.
There are far more disturbing images in the literature.

In this reference they report that the patient was repeatedly treated for cellulitis, but was never febrile and never had elevated WBC.
