2 caveats:
1) Probably a dumb question…but here we go.
2) Sub optimal quality of imaging, but this is a mobile MRI company that
serves some of our rural communities in Washington state. It is largely
adequate for what is asked of it.
Ok… Here’s the details.
63 yo female with abdominal pain and CT performed in the ER showed right
pelvic sidewall, ischiofemoral interval and iliopsoas masses demonstrating
punctate calcifications (1st image).
Pretty convinced these are multiple intramuscular/intermuscular cavernous
hemangiomas, but I am wondering if someone in the MSK world has some smart
things to say about recommendations. These are incidental and asymptomatic
and the patient has presumably lived for a long time with these. Is there
a role for surveillance (or blow it off and reassure)? Is there some
association of which I should be aware (should i suggest an MRI brain?)
I’m coming down hard on right lower extremity hemangiomatosis, but looking
for any other expertise that I should be applying here.
