Following-up on my prior email (below) about the sudden loss of our dear colleague and friend Richard de Villiers, I want to reach out again to everyone who plans to come ISS in Barcelona this fall.
On Saturday, the day after the conference, TMC Academy is organising the MSK cycling congress<eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Facademy.telemedicineclinic.com%2Ffellowships%2F3393%2Fmsk-cycling-congress-hosted-by-tmc-academy-oct-2022%2F&data=05%7C01%7CBJobke%40teleme…> at the TMC office in Barcelona in honour of Richard. The office is just across the conference venue /-hotel.
We are very excited to make this congress a reality and host some interesting presentations as well as a bike ride (optional of course) in his honour. We will get to enjoy live presentations on sports injuries (CME accredited) from speakers coming from Canada, USA, and Australia who are also speaking at ISS. We’ll throw in some extra take-home presentations as well because we want to leave time for networking, lunch, and a cycle tour.
If you have any questions about the agenda or registration, reach out to academy.info@telemedicineclinic.com<mailto:academy.info@telemedicineclinic.com>
Hope to meet you there!
Please feel free to share with anyone.
Best,
Björn

Dear colleagues,
With great sadness, I learned this week that our friend and TMC colleague Richard de Villiers died in a cycling accident last weekend.
Richard was a known sports imaging radiologist in South Africa (where he lived) and beyond, an educator and promoter for MSK imaging and an enthusiastic athlete himself.
Richard was an ISS member and a special lecture by him and colleagues about his favorite topic – cycling – was planned at this years ISS meeting in Barcelona, followed by a cycling tour. Please join us for this event to honor Richard and let’s come together to value life.
Further details can soon be found here: academy.telemedicineclinic.com/fellowships/3393/msk-cycling-congress-hosted-by-tmc-academy-oct-2022/<eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Facademy.telemedicineclinic.com%2Ffellowships%2F3393%2Fmsk-cycling-congress-hosted-by-tmc-academy-oct-2022%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cbjobke%40teleme…>
We will miss him dearly.
Björn
PS.: The case below that I posted recently was Richard’s case and the last case we both discussed. He was always super grateful for advice and appreciated OCAD and its members a lot!

Good Day Everyone,
19 y/o male pat. with knee swelling and trochlear dysplasia (not shown). No known surgery.
Incidental findings are these “bars” in the tibia which look like cartilage to me (PD + FS sequences). Does this have a specific name? Related to the growth plate? I believe there is also something similar in the femur?
Thanks in advance!
Björn
