Artur Kusak,
This is a beautiful case of a periosteal/subperiosteal osteoid osteoma or less likely osteoblastoma.
Kanesa-Thasan presented a series of about 40 of these at RSNA 2023 but publication still pending and the femoral neck was the most common location, M>F & diagnosis was often ages 25-35. They respond well to RFA but can be technically challenging because operators need to find a place to anchor the cannula.
Best,
Adam
Hello everyone,
Greetings from Poland,
A 31-year-old patient has been experiencing hip pain for a year. X-ray and MRI examinations were performed, revealing a lesion at the level of the femoral neck. Could you tell me whether it is more likely to be an osteoid osteoma / osteochondroma, or should I consider something malignant, such as chondrosarcoma?
Best regards,
Artur Kusak,
