Only in California

Our surgeons, in Southern and Central California do care about these measurements which are included on all reports and have our fellows do the same. Also, they’re interested in percentage glenoid bone loss with glenoid rim fractures, etc.

Hi,

Our surgeons care about the presence of bipolar lesions but they’re not too hang up on terminology or specific measurements. Even if we say it’s a non engaging lesion, their surgical decision will be based more on the clinical assessment of stability.

I have been asked about this on a couple occasions. Interestingly, also in Orange County, CA.

In Houston, I think I’ve been asked to include it only a few times. I report it, but not consistently, and mostly when it’s engaging. It’s just one more thing to measure. I already include the supraspinatus occupation ratio in every shoulder report (another topic, but do you do that?)
