(OCAD) Q re: anterior ankle impingement with ganglion cyst formation (MRI, XR)

Hi there,

This is a 60 year old male with anterior ankle impingement. He has talar
and anterior tibial osteophytes as well as a chronic osteochondral lesion
at the lateral talus.

There are also multiple ganglion cysts anteriorly, the largest at the
frondiform ligament (is that the Gruberi bursa?), the smaller ones
antero-medially.

Are the cysts impingement-related? Would they be a sign of anterior
impingement even in the absence of such obvious osteophytes?

Cheers,

Andrei
