OCAD Bilateral symmetric exostoses at the proximal femur (CT, MR)

60 F imaged for hip pain.

She has OA of the hip joints, especially on the left.

Also bilateral symmetric exostoses at the anterior aspect of the greater trochanter, with surrounding edema suggestive of impingement of the adjacent soft tissues. The exostoses are unchanged since 2012 and 2022, the surrounding edema increased.

Can’t recall having seen this so symmetric, have you? Should she be assessed for HME? Surgery recommended?

Cheers,

Andrei
