intraligamentar ACL vascular malformation MRI ?!

Hi, dear Ocaders!
I have encountered a strange case.
Young man, 20y, complaining of diffuse knee pain, no trauma
A basic MRI, non-contrast shows some serpiginous structures that
penetratese posterior knee capsula, and enters into ACL fibers. At first I
was quite sure that it is a sort of ganglion cyst, but taking a good look
at the images (I have attached a small movie) I saw that this structures
actually comes from popliteal vein.
Is it possible to be a vascular malformation inside ACL or it is a ganglion
cyst growing somehow retragrade very close to vessels? Have anyone seen
something like this?
I will recall the patient for contrast, but I would really appreciate your
opinion.
Thank you,

Sorin
