Fwd: Interesting case

Thanks to all who commented on the case.

The final Core and FNA results is high grade epitheloid angiosarcoma.

The case has been discussed in bone & soft tissue MDT with orthpaedic surgeons stating that there is a large FDG avid lung nodule on PET.

Best Regards,

Their thoughts were that, this was an Osteoid Osteoma and asked us in the IR department to treat it with radiofrequency ablation. However, patient’s demographic and imaging findings are not typical for Osteoid Osteoma. So we decided to do a biopsy first and make a MDT decision afterwards.

> MRI showed a 5mm T2 hyper intense, soft tissue nodule adjacent to the cortex.

> The FNA result showed malignant cells, suggestive of melanoma. The core biopsy result is still pending.
