Now I really need your help!
Got follow up MRI. Not elastofibroma, as I suspected…but not sure what
is going on.
There is enhancement superficial to the rib which is only clearly visible
in the Cor…with a corresponding lump that looks like muscle.
When we imaged (and I palpated) the other side in the same location during
the US, there was nothing on the left side.
This was an incidental lump found by the masseuse….non painful.
I don’t seem marrow edema or a crack in the rib.
I thought of a hematoma from vigorous massage, but would expect that to
hurt.
What do you think this is? What should I recommend, if anything?

Subject: Incidental chest wall mass 37F dentist Ultrasound, Please Help
To: ocad-msk@googlegroups.com <ocad-msk@googlegroups.com>
She is hysterical.
Noticed by a masseuse incidentally the other day.
This is a painless, solid avasular mass with mixed echogenic and hypoechoic
areas superficial to the posterolateral 9th or 10th rib (I think).
It is superficial to the rib and deep to muscle (latissimus dorsi, I think).
It is only visible when she raises her arm.
I know what I think this is…but curious if you agree.
What do you think?

As she refuses to be swayed by reason, she will not agree to follow this
clinically and follow up ultrasound…so MRI will be done, probably very
soon.
