Here is a perfect example- neg on 2D except minimal intrameniscal incr signal in an athlete from last week’s conf
No 3D as outside imaging- peripheral longitudinal tear that was repaired
Last one for today- lunch time- lol!

2D images are too blurry and miss lesions all the time
if incr intrameniscus signal like fluid- look for tear or do 3D
will send a case- my call is v busy
I dont use one cut or two cut- look for a tear

What specific diagnostic criteria do you use when calling meniscal tears. Do you make any exceptions?
Also i attached a pic for illustration. If the abnormal t2 signal ( dotted line) extends to the peripheral margin (vertical portion of the bowtie), do you call those tears if on two contiguous sequences? Thanks for your input.
