Hadn’t seen this before. College softball pitcher with mid forearm pain. A wrist mri was done and read as a supinator strain:
Wrist surgeon called me and said it seemed to be more of a proximal problem and chronic/stress related. I asked him for plain films and we saw this:
While I thought X-ray made the diagnosis I told him a forearm MR would give a better idea of degree and how long she might need to rest.
Kind of looks like the forearm equivalent of thigh splints…happy Monday.
