CPPD- crown dens syndrome

Hi All- good discussion on cppd. I have never seen or expect cppd in SI joints. We should play Multidisciplinary care and not get bogged down by rad findings. From my perspective leading rheum rounds for so many years- best to do serology status despite age and r/o axial spondyloarthritis and try to narrow down to a specific cause

But, here are three clinically proven cases- placed on colchicine of crowned dens syndrome

Two from rheumatology and one from my clinic- all from last two weeks!

findings- transverse lig calcification, dens erosion, widened AA joint in one and C3-4 neuropathy in another

Enjoy!

Best!
