Hi dear colleagues. Images attached are of a patient complaining of bilateral hip pain, mostly to the left. No history of corticosteroid use. What are your hypothesis? Bilateral transient osteoporiosis or early stage avascular osteonecrosis? Hilary makes a good point (good points). I dictated adhesive capsulitis on my report and then communicated what the patient said via HIPPA compliant text to the orthopedist. I think the PVNS came as a surprise. Pre op CT showed multifocal spurring and heterotopic ossification with talar dome OCLs.
