Hi Colin
This looks like a post traumatic fibrous band that usually forms from a
focus of fibrin debris in the joint following acute trauma. I have a case
that shows this evolution from from fibrin debris to fi oris band over two
time points.
I don’t think it is developmental. It can cause symptoms by abroad inf the
talar dome. Sometimes there may be tethering to the capsule that causes
symptoms in plantar flexion.
