56 yoF who suffered an acute twisting injury 10 days ago and heard a pop. Asymptomatic before then.
Acute unstable radial tear of the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus next to the root attachment. Root attachment equivalent? Pretty discreet on the axia. No mucoid degeneration of the ACL (not shown). Subluxed meniscus indicating instability.
Certainly have seen degenerative tearing of the anterior horn and also mucoid degeneration of the ACL extending through the shared root attachment to the anterior horn. Haven’t seen a discreet tear like this with this antecedent history. This would constitute a "ghost meniscus sign" of a radial tear, actually fluid filled!
I’m sure a lot of you have seen a ton of these. I thought it was unusual.
Have a great weekend everyone!
