The XR from Dec ’23
was reported as suspicious for EG and MRI was recommended
Another colleague reported the follow up MRI as indeterminate, but suggested both an intra osseous cyst and recommended orthopedic oncologic consultation.
There was no biopsy. The orthopedic oncologist chose to follow this (as I’m told by a colleague who spoke to him).
This MRI is from today. There seems to be new intrasubstance ossification and more consolidation of benign periosteal new bone at the anterior surface. The perilesional and periosteal edema have resolved. THere is mild internal enhancement.
I don’t think we’ll get a path diagnosis, since the orthopedic oncologist seems unimpressed
I wonder what lesion would progress like this, with resolving edema and increasing internal and periosteal mineralization.
EG?
Osteolastoma?
Other?
Thanks.
