There is scalloping of the outer cortex of the proximal humerus with adjacent mineralization (XR from yesterday)
She has a tear at the anterior supraspinatus insertion and enhancing bursal inflammation which I presume is responsible for her pain.
It seems that the surface chondroid lesion has been living with her for a long while, as there is smooth erosion of the outer cortex.
I think the imaging features are those of a periosteal chondroma, but I wonder if there is any possibility of chondrosarcoma.
Should this be referred for orthopedic oncologic consultation?
Thank you.
