27M distal thumb pain, sports injury 3 months ago, MRI. Quick Consult

The volar plate looks dramatically enlarged but smooth and dark…is there any possibility this is normal….or is this post traumatic scarring?
I have no idea if the finger flexion is positional or if there is limited extension
