THICKENED PLANTARIS TENDON – COMMENTS

Male patient, 40 years old, posterior pain in the Achilles tendon region after a soccer game.

Hi Andre, I have seen this thickening sometimes, but in your case it is very impressive and associated with surrounding edema, which makes me think of scarring and new sprain.
Attached a similar case from one of my previous lectures, with an acute presentation (plantaris tendon is also thickened although to a lesser degree).

Hi. There a more or less well described friction syndrome between the two tendons with thickening of the peritendon and inflammation. I will try to find the ref. I read some time ago. I think in french and italian literature…
Solution: to cut the plantaris tendon …
