One more reason to show it to your dentist and orthognathic surgeon

NS-RADS I4- another molar tooth extraction related lingual nerve mess on right

Reconstructed with allograft- again a mess-

Remember these are life changing events- no taste- no sensation- pain in tongue

Only 60% respond to surgery- seeing more of these also- failures..

1. Interval resection of the right lingual neuroma and status post-op of neurorraphy and allograft placement. Re-formation of neuroma at the surgical site with one fascicle in distal continuity. Right tongue denervation change with increased signal on the right.

2. Interval increased sinusal mucosal thickening and bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy. Disuse atrophy of the submandibular and sublingual glands on the right.

NS-RADS: Nerve: PI3 – Postintervention/surgical cases, definitely persistent or worsening neuropathy, Muscle: M1 – Edema-like signal

Snowing bad in Texas- y’all stay warm!
