This is a 69 yoM, 3 years s/p RCR. The PD sequences look like a typical
intact repair, but the T1 and T2 sequences without fat suppression reveal
extensive fat intensity signal within the supraspinatus tendon. No evidence
of a fluid intensity recurrent RCT. There’s fluid in the joint and in the
subacromial subdeltoid bursa, and no fluid extension into the tendon.

I’ve not seen this before and I’m a bit perplexed. I can’t work out quite
how this can be artifactual, and true fat within the tendon seems odder
still.
Can someone explain this?
