metaphyseal bands in tibia and femur. MRI

Good Day Everyone,

19 y/o male pat. with knee swelling and trochlear dysplasia (not shown). No known surgery.

Incidental findings are these “bars” in the tibia which look like cartilage to me (PD + FS sequences). Does this have a specific name? Related to the growth plate? I believe there is also something similar in the femur?

Thanks in advance!

Björn

  1. The following answers came in:

-red bone marrow, old bone infarcts, 2xcartilage rests, cartilage bars. Ollier was mentioned and metaphyseal chondrodysplasia

I went with cartilage rests, DDx enchondromatosis (Ollier)

    Best,
