Several Months Bilateral Knee Pain 59M XR and MRI Please Help

XRs show meniscal chondrocalcinosis, with what I reported either as
expansion or extrusion of the bilateral meniscal body.[image: 59M bilateral
medial knee pain .jpg]
Got bilateral MRI today. I was taught that chondrocalcinosis can produce
“spurious increased intrameniscal signal that can be confused with
tear”…but that was a million years ago and never found it to be a
challenge until now.

There is medial parameniscal cyst and intermediate increased intrasubstance
signal, but I don’t know if this would be considered meniscal tear….or if
I am to presume mensical tear by the mere presence of the parameniscal cyst?

And, yes, it’s bilateral…

Would you report degenerative tears and parameniscal cysts?
Do you see a tear extending to the articular surface?

Thanks.
