Peds ortho cast for several weeks after seeing these plain films. Mom
insisted that there was no trauma. Nothing changed after casting.

I am concerned about an old pathologic fracture but am unsure; no soft
tissue component. No abnormal enhancement.
The appearances are suggestive of focal fibrocartilaginous dysplasia. Although this is more common in the proximal tibia, I believe it has been reported in the upper extremity.

The top responses were NOF, fibrous cortical dysplasia and
fibrocartilaginous dysplasia. The pediatric orthopedic surgeon was very
happy to receive the comments about the patient. As she tore her meniscus,
she was out of office, and will be out for 6 weeks, so it took me a few
days to contact her and relay the opinions. Someone may see this child in
the future as the family is moving “somewhere east”.
