This is an incidental osteochondral mass posterior to the femoral neck in a 73M imaged by CT to evaluate abdominal pain
It seems to arise from the outer cortex, without medullary continuity
Is the cortical thinning / interruption posteriorly concerning?
The body imager recommended the Hip MRI I’m reporting
Harder to appreciate the continuity with the outer cortex
But I don’t see a soft tissue mass
It’s probably academic, but is this considered an intra-capsular chondroma?
Can it be a periosteal chondroma within the joint?
Does it matter?
I’m waiting for your advice.
Please help.
